Ink sacs and Shellac - Shop

These traditional Black latex ink sacs are for repairing and restoring most vintage Lever Filling and Button Filling fountain Pens. They are made from a mould dipped in liquid latex several times. They are cured, dried and dusted with french chalk ready for use. 

These sacs are hand made using traditional methods. Some slight variations in finish, shape and colour density are perfectly normal. All the sacs are a minimum of 75mm long, simply cut them to size to suit the barrel length of your pen.

Fix them in place with Shellac. Bottles of Shellac are available individually or as part of a kit.

Ink Sac Size Guide.

To select the correct size, measure the diameter of the nipple on the section of your pen. Also measure the usable inside diameter of the barrel, taking account of the pressure bar.

Then use the size guide below to choose the right sac for your pen:-

Size 14: OD = 5.56mm, Nipple Diameter 4.6 to 5.0mm. Barrel diameter >6.5mm
Size 15: OD = 5.95mm, Nipple Diameter 5.0 to 5.4mm. Barrel diameter >7.0mm
Size 16: OD = 6.35mm, Nipple Diameter 5.4 to 5.8mm. Barrel diameter >7.5mm
Size 17: OD = 6.75mm, Nipple Diameter 5.8 to 6.2mm. Barrel diameter >8.0mm
Size 18: OD = 7.41mm, Nipple Diameter 6.2 to 6.8mm. Barrel diameter >8.5mm
Size 19: OD = 7.54mm, Nipple Diameter 6.8 to 7.2mm. Barrel diameter >9.0mm
Size 20: OD = 7.94mm, Nipple Diameter 7.2 to 7.6mm. Barrel diameter >9.5mm
Size 22: OD = 8.73mm, Nipple Diameter 7.6 to 8.0mm. Barrel diameter >10.0mm

If there is a conflict, use the sac which will fit the barrel most comfortably.
